Prof. Tarl Prow

Director Skin Research Centre

Hull York Medical School

Professor Tarl Prow has had a distinguished career in scientific research and academia, focusing on dermatology, nanomedicine, and molecular pathology. Beginning with a postdoctoral fellowship at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, he advanced to teaching and expanded his research into diabetes and sickle cell retinopathy. At the University of Queensland, he developed microdevices for skin research and later joined the University of South Australia, focusing on skin cancer technologies. Currently, he serves as the Director of the Skin Research Centre at Hull York Medical School and Associate Dean at the University of York, UK. His research emphasizes minimally invasive technologies like microbiopsy for patient-friendly skin sampling and targeted drug delivery systems. Professor Prow is now pioneering the translation of microbiopsy data into a digital twin for advanced skin research.
