Biography

Shona is currently Quality and Technical Manager at Superdrug and is the current President of the SCS.

Shona is a member of the British Beauty Council Sustainable Coalition Steering Group.

Shona joined Yardley as a chemist after she graduated from Dundee Technical College and has always worked in the beauty industry.

During the 80s and 90s she worked for a number of contract manufacturers and including Dewhirst and Robert Mcbrides as a formulator.

She joined Marks and Spencer in 1993 as a technologist and eventually worked for Marks & Spencer on three separate occasions.

During her time at Marks & Spencer Shona was very involved with the development of Plan A , Marks & Spencers sustainability plan and developed and launched Pure Grape in 2015 . The range was developed in collaboration with Leeds University and used resveratrol extracted from the grape skins from Marks & Spencer wine production. This was one of the very first upcycled skin care ranges and the first to utilise food waste from a retailers own brand within its own skincare range.

Shona was Director of Quality at LF Beauty and Head of NPD for Bulldog skincare.

She now heads up the own brand team at Superdrug , covering all own brand products across beauty and health.

Shona has previously been a member of the SCS Council , Chair of P&R and Social Secretary .
