Biography

Liam Forbes is a Senior Scientist at Xias Bio, a biotechnology company developing sustainable multi-functional proteins/peptides for skincare and haircare. He holds a PhD in Biotechnology from the University of Glasgow, alongside an MSc in Industrial Biotechnology from the University of Strathclyde. At Xias Bio, Liam leads end-to-end protein R&D projects spanning target design, recombinant expression in microbial systems, purification, and biochemical characterisation. His current work centres on building and optimising assay platforms for the discovery and screening of novel haircare actives.
