Biography

Sven leads the Applied Research team “Sensory Additives” at Evonik Cosmetic Solutions, Segment Skin Care. He and his team develop ingredients used predominantly to design the sensory appeal of formulations. This includes film formers for sun care to improve water resistance and boost SPF. ISO 23675 in vitro SPF (“double plate method”) was recently added to the team’s toolbox. Before joining Evonik, Sven earned his PhD in chemistry from the University of Bonn, Germany.
