Current Insights on the Role of the Skin

Session 2 will focus on the skin. The topic of the bio-film and microbiome is one of the key research areas in the industry at present. Professor Miguel Camara, Nottingham University will join us to explain, quorum sensing, communication within the bio-film environment. He will be followed by Chris Gummer of Clearcast who will provide clear guidance on how claims in this area of breakthrough technology can be communicated to the consumer.

Dr David Gunn from Unilever will bring us insights into how complex genetic data can be related to the process of skin ageing and Gabriele Dedalt Souto, of Oriflame will talk about skin health.

At the end of the session we will provide the opportunity to discuss the topics presented further and ask questions. We will close day 1 with a drink reception and the “showcasing young talent” student poster competition. There will be the opportunity to vote for the best poster and awards will be given on day 2 for both graduate and post-graduate level research.
